Language Revitalization and the Classroom: Video Workshops at an Elementary School in Miyakojima

This paper explores a pedagogy for language revitalization in the specific endangered context of Miyakoan Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The topic discussed on this is matter teaching and learning methodology. transmission to younger generation will be sought school domain. There are three guiding research questions: (1) what might suit revitalization, (2) how can accommodate educational goal, (3) plan raise pupils’ awareness learn about language. First, review current direction Indigenous languages Japan at macro socio-historical level. Second, micro-educational practice reported analyzed.
